A Fall Wedding and a Gift to Remember

Have you ever noticed how fall has this way of bringing us back home? The air turns crisp, the leaves shift into golden hues, and the world seems to slow down. It’s as if the season is gently reminding us to pause, take inventory of the moments we’ve rushed through, and really savor the ones in front of us. Fall isn’t just a change in the weather—it’s a shift in the way we connect, to ourselves and to each other.

Labor Day weekend at L’Eau Hill perfectly captured that spirit. We hosted the most intimate wedding for a military couple, right before their deployment. They rented the entire home and invited 40 of their closest friends and family for a day of love, reflection, and celebration. I wasn’t at the wedding myself—I spent the weekend at Lake Oconee with friends, creating memories of my own—but my house manager helped the bride and wedding party the entire day and she shared texts and photos how beautiful it was. Laughter and tears blended together, as the couple made the most of their time with loved ones, knowing they were about to embark on a new chapter of life together. The entire day felt so aligned with what fall represents: grounding, connection, and embracing the moments that mean the most.

Hosting moments like this wedding always brings me back to the heart of why I love to gather people—creating spaces for connection, for conversations that go deeper than the surface. That’s why, when I was thinking about what to gift the bride, I decided to give her something close to my heart. A few years ago, I published a coffee table book called Love, You, a project that took two years to develop and has been one of the most personal endeavors of my life. We sold the book widely years ago, but I kept a limited number of copies for myself because it was a limited edition and I felt there would be a time in the future when I wanted to share the remaining copies with the world. Now, as I move into a new season of my life, I’ve decided to open my vault and share the remaining copies with you through Homebody & Co. It’s more than just a book—it’s a piece of my journey, a gift of exploration and a way to bring meaningful conversations into your home as you gather with those closest to you.

And while we’re embracing the new opportunities that fall brings, we’re also preparing for something exciting: the groundbreaking of Norwood Vineyard & Gardens on October 12th. There’s something truly poetic about starting this next chapter in the fall, a season known for planting seeds and preparing for what’s ahead. We’re building something that’s not just for us, but for our entire community, and I’m excited to share more with you as it unfolds.

As we lean into fall, I encourage you to find your own moments of pause. Maybe it’s gathering with friends around a fire pit, or hosting a slow dinner under the stars. Maybe it’s giving yourself permission to simply sit, with a cup of tea or a good book, and reflect on where you are. Fall invites us to come back home, in every sense of the word. It’s a season that encourages connection, reflection, and warmth—and that’s exactly what I hope we all have the opportunity to feel over the next few months.

With love and warmth,
