Building Norwood Vineyard: A Family’s Journey of Legacy and Vision
Dear Friends,
As the summer sun bathes the rolling hills of Jonesboro, Georgia, I find myself reflecting on the deeply personal journey of bringing Norwood Vineyard to life. This family property, nestled on four serene acres, has been in our family for over 75 years. It's a place filled with history, memories, and now, the vision for a vibrant future.
Norwood Vineyard is not just another project; it's a labor of love, an homage to my father who cared for this land for over 40 years before his passing in February. For us, this space is intimate and sacred, filled with the essence of our family’s heritage. We’re committed to preserving its history while creating a place that invites others to share in its beauty and tranquility.
One of the most rewarding, yet challenging, aspects of developing Norwood Vineyard has been uniting our family’s vision. My siblings and I have spent countless hours discussing and sometimes debating how best to honor our father’s legacy while bringing fresh life to the property. We’ve poured over old family photos, walked the land together, and shared our dreams for what Norwood Vineyard could become.
In the next six weeks, we will begin speaking with community leaders and long-time residents of Jonesboro. Their insights and stories will be invaluable as we strive to balance preserving the sacred and vulnerable aspects of the property with opening it up for others to enjoy. We believe that creating venues is about more than just pretty spaces; it’s about ensuring the community is involved and heard.
As we lay the foundations, both literally and figuratively, we’re not just thinking about the design and aesthetics. We're focusing on the intention behind each element of the space. From the cozy corners perfect for intimate gatherings to the expansive lawns ideal for grand celebrations, every detail is crafted with love and care. We’re excited to share some of our inspiration images below for the design—elements that reflect both our family’s legacy and the welcoming spirit we want Norwood Vineyard to embody.
My dad’s legacy is at the heart of this project. He spent over four decades nurturing this land, and it feels only right that we continue to cultivate it with the same dedication. It's about more than just creating a beautiful venue; it's about making sure that Norwood Vineyard remains a place of connection, community, and continuity.
We’re excited to share this journey with you. As we move forward, I’ll keep you updated on our progress, share stories from our family’s history, and give you a glimpse into the dreams we have for this special place. Your support and interest mean the world to us, and we can’t wait to welcome you to Norwood Vineyard soon.
With warmest regards,
Erika
